🌸 About Tulsi Vivah
Tulsi Vivah 2025 marks the sacred wedding of Goddess Tulsi (Holy Basil) to Lord Vishnu’s manifestation as Shaligram. This ritual symbolizes the divine union of spiritual purity and preservation of life.
Celebrated on the Dwadashi tithi (12th lunar day) of the Kartik month, Tulsi Vivah officially marks the beginning of the Hindu wedding season and is one of the most auspicious festivals in the Hindu calendar.
🌼 Mythological Background
According to Hindu scriptures, Tulsi was the earthly form of Vrinda, the devoted wife of the demon king Jalandhar. Her unwavering devotion made Jalandhar invincible.
To destroy Jalandhar, Lord Vishnu took his form and deceived Vrinda. Upon realizing the truth, Vrinda cursed Vishnu to become a stone (Shaligram) and later immolated herself. From her ashes, the sacred Tulsi plant was born.
To atone, Lord Vishnu declared Tulsi as his eternal consort, and their divine marriage is celebrated annually as Tulsi Vivah.
