Sacred Fast Dedicated to Lord Shiva – Observed on Trayodashi Tithi
Pradosh Vrat is observed twice a month on Trayodashi Tithi of the Shukla and Krishna Paksha, just before sunset. This vrat is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, and observing it is believed to remove sins, bring prosperity, and bestow blessings for health, longevity, and family harmony.

2. Fasting
- Devotees may observe a full fast or partial fast.
- Avoid grains, onion, garlic, and tamasic foods. Fruits, milk, and water are allowed in partial fast.
3. Evening Worship (Pradosh Kaal)
- Offer Bilva leaves, milk, water, flowers, and fruits to Lord Shiva.
- Chant Om Namah Shivaya, Shiva Sahasranama, or Lingashtakam.
- Meditate and perform arati during Pradosh Kaal.
4. Night Vigil & Charity
- Sing bhajans, kirtans, or recite Shiva Stotra.
- Donate food, money, or clothes to the needy.
5. Parana (Breaking Fast)
- Break the fast after sunset Puja or on the next day, after offering food to Brahmins, cows, and the needy.
