🕉️ Significance
Sankashti Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi Vrat, is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta). When it falls on a Tuesday, it is called Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi, which is considered the most auspicious of all.
Devotees fast and pray to Lord Ganesha to remove difficulties, bring success in new ventures, and bless their families with prosperity and wisdom.
🌸 Puja Vidhi
- Morning Fast:
Devotees observe a strict fast until moonrise, consuming only fruits and water. - Evening Puja:
The idol or image of Lord Ganesha is decorated with flowers, and offerings of durva grass, modak, and banana are made. - Moonrise Ritual:
The fast is broken after seeing the moon and performing Chandra Puja with water offering. - Chanting: “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah”
