📖 Mythological Story (Katha) of Saphala Ekadashi
According to the Padma Purana, there once lived a king named Maharaja Mahishmata, who had a son named Lumbaka. Lumbaka was wicked and sinful, disrespecting his parents and engaging in immoral acts. The king banished him from the kingdom.
Lumbaka lived in a forest, suffering hunger and grief. One day, unknowingly, he observed the Saphala Ekadashi fast, and by Lord Vishnu’s grace, he was purified of his sins. The next morning, he returned home, sought forgiveness, and regained his kingdom. Since then, observing Saphala Ekadashi has been believed to cleanse sins and bring prosperity.
