🌙 December 12, 2025 – Shukla Paksha Pradosh Vrat (Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat & Shiva Puja)
Pradosh Vrat, also known as Shiva Pradosham, is one of the most sacred fasting days dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The word ‘Pradosh’ means ‘the time of dusk’ — the twilight period between day and night, which is considered the most auspicious time to worship Lord Shiva.
On Friday, December 12, 2025, devotees will observe Shukla Paksha Pradosh Vrat, coinciding with Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat. This combination makes the day highly auspicious for both prosperity and spiritual purification.

- Peace and prosperity in the family,
- Protection from negative influences,
- Fulfilment of desires, and
- Grace of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
When this vrat falls on a Friday, it also carries the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, making it a double-auspicious day known as Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat — a ritual observed by women for financial well-being, family harmony, and abundance.
📖 The Legend Behind Pradosh Vrat
According to Hindu scriptures, when the Devas and Asuras churned the ocean (Samudra Manthan), a deadly poison named Halahala emerged, threatening to destroy all life.
To save creation, Lord Shiva drank the poison, holding it in his throat — which turned blue, earning him the name Neelkantha.
The Devas prayed to Lord Shiva during the Pradosh Kaal, expressing gratitude for saving the universe. Moved by their devotion, Shiva declared that whoever prays to him during this period will be blessed with happiness, forgiveness, and liberation.
