While constructing our homes, we diligently apply Vaastu Shastra principles to the location, direction, living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. However, we often overlook one crucial aspect: the staircase. According to Vaastu Shastra, the staircase acts as the epicenter of the house, generating strong energy zones that attract and guide positivity, prosperity, health, and wealth. A well-constructed staircase, aligned with Vaastu principles, can work wonders, while a poorly designed one can have the opposite effect. Therefore, Vaastu Shastra emphasizes the importance of the staircase’s location, direction, measurements, placement, color, spacing, and visibility. It provides specific guidelines for constructing staircases in accordance with the rules of Indian Architecture, which focus on maintaining the balance of the five elements—air, space, water, fire, and earth. By adhering to these guidelines, you can attract maximum benefits for yourself and your family, including healthy well-being, prosperity, growth, success, harmonious relationships, and a respected standing in society. Embrace Vaastu Shastra with conviction, and witness your success multiply day by day, and quadruple by the night.
Steps to a Quintessential Staircase
Vaastu Shastra recommends the following parameters for constructing a flawless staircase:
Placement and Installation:
- Square or rectangular staircases, bending at the right angle, are considered best, whether for internal or external use.
- Stairs should turn clockwise.
- The climbing face of the stairs should face either south or west.
- Stairs can be constructed in the north-west to south-west or south-west to southeast zones. The ideal directions for staircase construction in a house are south-west, followed by south and west.
- Avoid having stairs directly facing the main door.
Number of Steps in a Staircase:
- The appropriate number of steps for a staircase is determined by dividing the total number of stairs by 3, and the remainder should be 2 (e.g., 5, 11, 17, 23, etc.).
- The number of steps for a rising staircase should not end with a zero (e.g., 10, 20, 30, etc.).
