Vaishno Devi Yatra – Darshan Guide & Aarti Timings

Vaishno Devi Temple, nestled in the Trikuta hills of Jammu and Kashmir, is one of the most revered shrines in India dedicated to Mata Vaishno Devi, a manifestation of Goddess Durga. Every year, millions of devotees embark on the sacred Yatra (pilgrimage) to seek the blessings of the Divine Mother.

The journey is not just physical but deeply spiritual, filled with devotion, chants, and unwavering faith.

Location

  • Temple Altitude: Approx. 5,200 feet (1,585 m)
  • Base Camp: Katra, in Reasi district, Jammu & Kashmir
  • Distance to Temple: ~12 km from Katra

Significance of Mata Vaishno Devi

Mata Vaishno Devi is believed to be a divine incarnation formed by the combined energies of Goddess Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati. She took human form to rid the world of evil and grant salvation to her devotees.

The sacred cave houses three natural rock formations (called Pindis) symbolizing the three goddesses. Unlike traditional idols, these Pindis are believed to self-manifest and are the primary source of darshan.
